U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions will be visiting on Art in eARTh Day to help announce the awards for the Congressional Art Competition for the East Texas Region.

"At this time, we have received entry forms for 35 pieces from 4 area high schools including Huntsville High School.  I am very excited about this news, especially since my area of the district leads all other regions by a long shot.   The judges will select one winner and two runner ups on Thursday.  All entries will be displayed at the reception on Saturday.  By the end of the reception the sole winner from our area will be announced and that piece will serve as a semi finalist to compete against the other 3 pieces selected from the other 3 areas of the district to be judged by the Congressman.  The final and single winning piece from the district will be taken by Congressman to DC by the end of April and displayed immediately.  The official reception for all winning pieces across America will occur on June 20."
